Amy Plum created an intricate, original mythology for this young adult paranormal series. The books, set in the City of Lights, introduce readers to revenants, undead beings who must sacrifice themselves again and again to save the lives of strangers.
My thoughts:
Poor group, everyone has their issues and they have more problems then a one legged dog. Trying to stop evil and stay alive is not going to happen. Some must die in order for others to live. Vincent is dead and wondering around because his body is destroyed. But who pictured what would happen to Kate. I was shocked and surprise by the outcome of all that. I hoped things would be better for her but turns out things only go down hill, from the first chapter on.
Things do look up but in order for things to go back Jules must not come home, he's too in love with Kate and wanting what your best friend has can be a problem.
They face down the evil numa and win, but at what cost. Gaspard knows and will tell you. He also will tell you the future.
