Sisterhood: Everlasting by: Ann Brashares

Publications Date: March 2012

Overview: Return to the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants . . . ten years later

Welcome return of the characters whose friendship became a touchstone for a generation. Now Tibby, Lena, Carmen, and Bridget have grown up, starting their lives on their own. And though the jeans they shared are long gone, the sisterhood is everlasting.
Despite having jobs and men that they love, each knows that something is missing: the closeness that once sustained them. Carmen is a successful actress in New York, engaged to be married, but misses her friends. Lena finds solace in her art, teaching in Rhode Island, but still thinks of Kostos and the road she didn't take. Bridget lives with her longtime boyfriend, Eric, in San Francisco, and though a part of her wants to settle down, a bigger part can’t seem to shed her old restlessness.
Then Tibby reaches out to bridge the distance, sending the others plane tickets for a reunion that they all breathlessly await. And indeed, it will change their lives forever—but in ways that none of them could ever have expected.
As moving and life-changing as an encounter with long-lost best friends, Sisterhood Everlasting is a powerful story about growing up, losing your way, and finding the courage to create a new one.

My thoughts: It hasn't been 10 years since I read the series but it feels that way. And so walking into this it felt like an eternity since I learned anything new from the girls. This is a sad end to the series. Poor Tibby, but so glad that the story we had before begins again in the life of a child. And we have a glimmer of hope for the girls and the love they shared, had for others and kept for life. Bailey's name lives on from the previous books. One girl dies, babies, husbands and adventure it this series the best way possible.

Immortal Hearts by: Ellen Schrieber

Publication Date: May 2012

Overview: Athena "Stormy" Sterling is coming to Dullsville. . . .
Will meeting her change Raven's mind about vampire life?
Raven is both giddy and panicked in anticipation of Alexander's little sister's visit. Alexander calls her Stormy for a reason, and her visit stirs up the perfect immortal whirlwind. Raven is forced to take a good look at what it would really mean to be a vampire in the Sterling family, aside from shunning the sun and sleeping in a coffin with Alexander. She knows she's always wanted to be a vampire, but when Raven compares her life with Stormy's, she can see that it's not all starry skies and black roses. Still, will she ultimately be able to convince Alexander that it's the right thing to turn her?

My thoughts: Raven loves Stormy, Alexander's little sister. And really who can blame her, she helps put people in their place and brings the two love birds closer together. They have to fight others to come to such a peaceful happiness but it is so worth it. In the end after 2 failed attempts to change her, one b Jagger and a fake one by Trevor, she might finally get her wish. And if she does, who will be the lucky guy?

Royal Blood by: Ellen Schrieber

Publication Date: April 2010

Overview: Summer break is over, and Raven is hardly eager to be returning to Dullsville High. Not only does school mean daily interaction with preppy pest Trevor Mitchell, but her sleep-filled days and romantic nights with her immortal boyfriend, Alexander, must come to an end. Plus the shock of morning classes isn't the only change in store.
An unexpected letter turns up at Alexander's mansion—announcing his parents will be coming to town. And once they arrive, just about everyone has had a sighting of the macabre couple except Raven. What could be delaying Alexander from introducing Raven to them? Could Alexander be hiding something about his parents' homecoming?
When Raven is finally invited to the most thrilling dinner party of her life, the next turn of events could transform her entire future with Alexander.

My thoughts: Between meeting Alexander's parents and the drama of dinners with the parents  this couple seems stresses. First Raven has dinner with her parents and his and then vice versa. Raven realizes that she really enjoys both sets of parents and has admiration for them all.
But yet again they face separation when Alexander's parent want to sell the family home.
