Crusade by: Nancy Holder + Debbie Viguie

Publication Date: September 2010

Synopsis: The ultimate battle. The ultimate love.

For the past two years, Jenn has lived and trained at Spain’s Sacred Heart Academy Against the Cursed Ones. She is among the few who have pledged to defend humanity or die trying. But the vampires are gaining power, and the battle has only just begun.
Forced to return home after death takes a member of her family, Jenn discovers that San Francisco is now a vampire strong-hold. As a lone hunter apart from her team, Jenn is isolated—and at risk. She craves the company of her fighting partner, Antonio: his protection, his reassurance, his touch. But a relationship with Antonio comes with its own dangers, and the more they share of themselves, the more Jenn stands to lose.
Then Jenn is betrayed by one who was once bound to protect her, causing her to doubt all she had held as true. To survive, Jenn must find the courage to trust herself—and her heart.

My thoughts: I'm slightly intrigued by this book. An band of vampire hunters that consist of a vampire! Not normal, but okay.
So Jenn the human is in love with Antonio, the vampire, who has studied to be a priest. And he loves Jenn as well and will protect her at all cost.
So the hunter go to a underground lab and rescue a drug that is suppose to kill vampires....it doesn't work...of course.
Then Jenn's grandfather dies and she goes home to California...she's in Spain. After the funeral Jenn's father tricks her into going somewhere to "save a family" and he ends up letting the vampire have her but in the mix of it all the end up with Jenn's sister Heather.
Jenn goes to a friends house to get help only to realize that her friend is an evil vampire lover! and he attacks her and ends up killing her friend and Jenn kills him.....Yay!
Jenn gets her grandmother to come help her get out of town and learns that her father did it to protect the rest of the family....but his plan totally back fired.
Jenn has to go to New Orleans where Heather is being held, by Aurora the head vampire. Unfortunately Aurora is impatient and turns Heather into a vampire.
But the team helps Jenn get Heather anyway and they fly out of there to Spain.
I wonder what will happen next?

Wicked Lovely by: Melissa Marr

Publication Date: April 2008

Synopsis: Rule #3: Don't stare at invisible faeries.

Aislinn has always seen faeries. Powerful and dangerous, they walk hidden in mortal world. Aislinn fears their cruelty—especially if they learn of her Sight—and wishes she were as blind to their presence as other teens.
Rule #2: Don't speak to invisible faeries.
Now faeries are stalking her. One of them, Keenan, who is equal parts terrifying and alluring, is trying to talk to her, asking questions Aislinn is afraid to answer.
Rule #1: Don't ever attract their attention.
But it's too late. Keenan is the Summer King who has sought his queen for nine centuries. Without her, summer itself will perish. He is determined that Aislinn will become the Summer Queen at any cost—regardless of her plans or desires.
Suddenly none of the rules that have kept Aislinn safe are working anymore, and everything is on the line: her freedom; her best friend, Seth; her life; everything.
Faerie intrigue, mortal love, and the clash of ancient rules and modern expectations swirl together in Melissa Marr's stunning 21st century faery tale.

My thoughts: This book is great! I love vampires and wolves, but it's time for faeries! And this book and series is the place to start.
Aislinn is a strong, capable female who can see the faeries, but pretends she can't. That is until Kennan.
Kennan is the Summer King, whose is not quite the queen. Just a prince actually, until he gets his queen, Aislinn.
Well she wants nothing to do with him and she's in love with Seth.
Seth is the most caring and loving friend. Who turns out to be more than just her friend....Thank God.
Aislinn finally sets down the law. She'll become Keenan's queen, if and only if she can keep Seth...and considering there is no love with her and Keenan...this is reasonable.
With Ais as his queen they defeat his mother the Winter Queen and free the Winter Girl from her prison life.
It turns out that Keenan is in love with Donia, the winter girl, who has now become the winter Queen.
With everyone happy and in love do you think they will stay that way!!!

Paranormalcy by: Kiersten White

Publication Date: August 2010

Synopsis: Evie’s always thought of herself as a normal teenager, even though she works for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, she’s falling for a shape-shifter, and she’s the only person who can see through paranormals’ glamours.

But Evie’s about to realize that she may very well be at the center of a dark faerie prophecy promising destruction to all paranormal creatures.
So much for normal.

My thoughts: This book took a while for me to get into, mostly because this girl complains about her life on every other page. Quite annoying really! I almost wish she were real so I could slap her and tell her to put on her big girl panties...LOL!
I decided to forge on and Lend is an interesting character. I'm still not sure what kind of creature he is. But his love and care for the messed up Evie, make you like him. Even when your unsure.
Raquel seems to be a boss/mother hen who knows they've used Evie and is truly trying to make things up to her. And I tell her this you can use me if you promise to take me on all expenses paid vacations and shopping sprees. Or she could just take me to London that's me dream travel location...LOL.
I really love David's way of taking care of the paranormals. He lets them live normal lives with really jobs...Most people would want to stick them in a cage somewhere and forget them.

Nightshade By: Andrea Cremer

Publication Date: October 2010

Synopsis: Calla Tor has always known her destiny: After graduating from the Mountain School, she'll be the mate of sexy alpha wolf Ren Laroche and fight with him, side by side, ruling their pack and guarding sacred sites for the Keepers. But when she violates her masters' laws by saving a beautiful human boy out for a hike, Calla begins to question her fate, her existence, and the very essence of the world she has known. By following her heart, she might lose everything-- including her own life. Is forbidden love worth the ultimate sacrifice?

My thoughts: This book is amazing! I loved it from the first paragraph...seriously!
I really think Calla and Ren should be together and I'm really disappointed in the ending, but at least I know there will be more later!
Shay should have gotten the picture and left Calla alone! Does he not realize or care that he has caused a butt load of trouble for Calla.
I love that Bryn and Ansel are together and other little love stories that are found along that way is the perfect way to tie the packs together.
Sabine needs to get a life and stop being a complete cow!
The thing that is the most mysterious to me and I can't wait to find out more is: what is going on with the Keepers, guardians, and Searchers.
I really does sound like Shay is evil....they need to watch that one!!!

Shiver by: Maggie Stiefvater

Publication Date: June 2010

Synopsis: For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf--her wolf--is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human . . . until the cold makes him shift back again.

Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human--or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.

My thoughts: I absolutely love this book. It has love with a little bit of sorrow, but love conquers all. Truly amazing.
GRace was tortured by wolves, only to be saved by one. She should have changed into a wolf, but a deadly fever saved her. I don't whether I'd have been grateful or not.
Sam is the wolf who saved her and has loved her ever since. When he is forced to change back to wolf it almost kills him, because he knows he will never be human again.
Finally he gets to love her and be by her side. he tries to help other wolves, only to be forced to save themselves against danger.
They lose friends and loved ones.
They try to find a cure! Which is to infect the wolves with infected blood so they get a high fever and it will cause them either to die or to be cured.
Jack dies.
Olivia choses not to take the blood and changes into a wolf.
And Sam turns human....Amen! (at least for Sam)

Divine by Blood By: P.C. Cast

Publication Date: August 2009

Synopsis:Conceived in a lie and trapped in a tree throughout her gestation, Morrigan's birth was truly magical. After that start, she spent the next eighteen years raised as a normal girl in Oklahoma.

Upon discovering the truth of her heritage, her rage and grief take on a power of their own, carrying her back to the world of Partholon. Yet, instead of being respected as the daughter of the Goddess Incarnate, Morrigan feels like a shunned outsider.
In her desperation to belong to Partholon, she confronts forces she can't fully understand or control. And soon a strange darkness draws closer….

My thoughts: Rhiannon is truly dead....but her daughter Morrigan is alive and well living with Shannon's parent.
Meanwhile Rhea has a daughter, Myrna.
18 years later, Myrna is pregnant by a human instead of a Shaman. Which means she is not the next chosen one of Epona. She has her baby and dies after the birth.
While this happens Morrigan get transfers to an new world ( or new to her at least). Where she is chosen as Epona new high priestess after Rhea of course. She then however has to conquer evil to chose to be good. She also falls in love with Keagan. After a lot of chaos and injuries  plus a death or two. Morrigan and Keagan get transferred back to Morrigan's world. Keagan actually replace Kyle in his body...but that's okay because Morrigan is really in love with Keagan. And she need her High Shaman with her.

Divine by Choice by; P.C. Cast

Publication Date: Aug. 1 2009

Synopsis:Shannon Parker has finally come to terms with life in the mythical world of Partholon. She loves her centaur husband, her connection to the goddess Epona and the pampering that comes with both! She's almost forgotten her old life on Earth—especially when she discovers she's pregnant….

Then a sudden burst of power sends her back to Oklahoma. Without magic, Shannon can't return to Partholon—and so she needs to find help. Trouble is, it might take the form of a man as tempting as her husband. And along the way she'll discover that being divine by mistake is a lot easier than being divine by choice….

My thoughts: I have to say that after the first book I didn't really hold much hope for the next. But decided that since it was given to me I'd better give it a try.
Much like the first book, this one was graphic about sexual abuse and abortion.
Unlike, the first book it had a stronger story line and held my attention better.
Shannon (Rhea) is pregnant and after a celebration in Parthon is somehow pulled back to the real world, by Carter who is a look alike for Rhea's husband in Parthon.
With his help and an update on Rhiannon's where about and wrong doings, they set out to find her and make her see that she has to stop bring the evil on...lol. While back in the real world Shannon's friend Suzanna get killed by Nauda , who yes...is back. And he also injures Shannon's father.
Shannon allows herself to fall in love with Clint, which lets face it since he's a lot like her husband its not hard to do. They become lovers (which I don't like).
They defeat Nuada (thank God) and Clint sacrifices himself to send Rhea back where she belongs, in Parthon.
I am happy that Shannon made it back to Parthon and hope that we have seen the lat of the 2 evils......yeah right!!!
