Dark Frost by Jennifer Estep

Publication Date: June 2012

Overview: I've seen so many freaky things since I started attending Mythos Academy last fall. I know I'm supposed to be a fearless warrior, but most of the time, I feel like I'm just waiting for the next Bad, Bad Thing to happen. Like someone trying to kill me—again.

Everyone at Mythos Academy knows me as Gwen Frost, the Gypsy girl who uses her psychometry magic to find lost objects—and who just may be dating Logan Quinn, the hottest guy in school. But I'm also the girl the Reapers of Chaos want dead in the worst way. The Reapers are the baddest of the bad, the people who murdered my mom. So why do they have it in for me? It turns out my mom hid a powerful artifact called the Helheim Dagger before she died. Now, the Reapers will do anything to get it back. They think I know where the dagger is hidden, but this is one thing I can't use my magic to find. All I do know is that the Reapers are coming for me—and I'm in for the fight of my life.

My thoughts: Poor Gwen. Just when you think things can being to settle down again, your life turns itself upside down and inside out. She just can't catch a break.
This time she has had a break from school and is headed back but not before heading to the local museum to finish a project for school. only when she gets there things get bad really fast and fellow students die. Who gets the blame....Gwen, of course. Some of the characters in this book I would love to take to the street and kick their butts for acting the way they do and freaking out at Gwen when it is obliviously not her fault.
Daphne, finds herself in something she has never wanted a part of and needs to find a better way to express herself before she ends up friendless.

Kiss of Frost by: Jennifer Estep

Publication Date: December 2011

Overview: Logan Quinn was trying to kill me.My Spartan classmate relentlessly pursued me, swinging his sword at me over and over again, the shining silver blade inching closer to my throat every time. A smile tugged up his lips, and his ice-blue eyes practically glowed with the thrill of battle…
I’m Gwen Frost, a second-year warrior-in-training at Mythos Academy, and I have no idea how I’m going to survive the rest of the semester. One day, I’m getting schooled in swordplay by the guy who broke my heart—the drop-dead gorgeous Logan who slays me every time. Then, an invisible archer in the Library of Antiquities decides to use me for target practice. And now, I find out that someone at the academy is really a Reaper bad guy who wants me dead. I’m afraid if I don’t learn how to live by the sword—with Logan’s help—I just might die by the sword…

My thoughts: I'm back in Gwen's world. She has made more and more friends.
I'm really upset with Logan in this installment, even knowing how the book ends. I think he could have ans should have been a better person, but we all believe that about others at some point in our lives.
Oliver, Evil? I doubt it that boy has been nothing but sweet. I know at times he comes off a little weird but there is an explanation that is great and once you understand it, you'll understand him. But will he actually hurt Gwen is the question? I know I wanted to slap his face most of the way through the book because his behavior was off, but I stuck with him and never doubted him unlike Gwen and maybe it paid off for me.
Preston, Hottie or Not? I'm sure most girls are going to be in love him when they read his description, but I wasn't I still wanted things to be on the up and up with Logan. So does Logan or Preston get the girl?

Touch of Frost by: Jennifer Estep

Publication Date: August 2011

Overview: My name is Gwen Frost, and I go to Mythos Academy — a school of myths, magic and warrior whiz kids, where even the lowliest geek knows how to chop off somebody's head with a sword and Logan Quinn, the hottest Spartan guy in school, also happens to be the deadliest.
But lately, things have been weird, even for Mythos. First, mean girl Jasmine Ashton was murdered in the Library of Antiquities. Then, someone stole the Bowl of Tears, a magical artifact that can be used to bring about the second Chaos War. You know, death, destruction and lots of other bad, bad things. Freaky stuff like this goes on all the time at Mythos, but I'm determined to find out who killed Jasmine and why—especially since I should have been the one who died. . .

My thoughts: I found this series at my new location. It's one that drew my in by the cover (you know that old saying"Never Judge a Book by it's Cover") so I picked it up. And I was greatly surprised. I couldn't put it down. So much so that I made my cousin go back to the library the next day and picked up the rest of the series (the library had).
Gwen is the poor girl that has been made to go to a school for special kids, not special ed. It's such a change for her one that genuinely rocks her world. And makes her see more then she ever has before. She is slowly making friends, but make a heck of a lot of enemies as well. She uses her gift for good, but also charges for it. And I would too.
I'm pissed with Logan at the beginning but that he steps up and helps in the end make me love him. The sound of him is quite something too. You would think saving the school from the evil Reapers would make her something of a hero but the teachers keep it under wraps. And you would think saving a girls life would make them great friends, but sadly not.

Golden Lily by: Richelle Mead

Publication Date: June 2012

Overview: Tough, brainy alchemist Sydney Sage and doe-eyed Moroi princess Jill Dragomir are in hiding at a human boarding school in the sunny, glamorous world of Palm Springs, California. The students—children of the wealthy and powerful—carry on with their lives in blissful ignorance, while Sydney, Jill, Eddie, and Adrian must do everything in their power to keep their secret safe. But with forbidden romances, unexpected spirit bonds, and the threat of Strigoi moving ever closer, hiding the truth is harder than anyone thought.

My thoughts: Sydney is getting drug through the ringer again. And it really pisses me off at time, but I know like Rose(Vampire Academy) she will make it through. The time it's over vampire hunter's which if I could get a hold of I would ring their necks, and it would be so fun! The truth is they are old school Alchemist and are tired of the way the newbies are handling things.
They think all creatures but humans are evil and should be done away with. This is a problem not just for the vampires, but me as well.
They set out to kill Sonya, but Sydney and Adrian are to the rescue as always, In the end Dimitri and his friends are there to help out.
Adrian and Sydney have this wonderful growing attraction. I want so much for Adrian to be happy. After everything he went through with Rose, I think it's his time to shine and be happy in love. And I think this new romance is just the ticket.

Fate by: Amanda Hocking

Publication Date: August 2010

As for his brother Peter... she's not sure where he's at. When tragedy happens, Alice finds herself struggling with a terrible choice...

My thoughts: After letting Little brother met the clan of vampires life turns upside down for the duo. Their mother the stupid cow decides she misses spending time with them yet, really only sits with them long enough to yell and carry on. Then she meets the lovely Jack and falls all over herself and him.
Poor Milo finds himself in a fate, some would say is worse then death. Alice must choice whether to save him or let him go. The choice he made was the best one and in the end will make life much better for him.
Alice's emotions are high and she can't understand.
Her dear friend is still in the picture but this poor girl is spinning out of control....and life with her leads the group to unusual encounters.

My Blood Approves by: Amanda Hocking

Publication Date: April 2010

Overview: Teenager Alice Bonham's life feels crazy after she meets Jack. With his fondness for pink Chuck Taylors and New Wave, he's unlike anyone she knows.

Then she meets his brother, Peter. Even though he can't stand the sight of her, she's drawn to him.

Falling for two guys isn't even the worst of her problems. Jack and Peter are vampires, and Alice finds herself caught between love and her own blood

My thoughts: After finding this author last year, I am so thrilled to say I have found I enjoy all her works. I have read as many as possible and still have more to read. This series is no different.
Alice has a rowdy friend who encourages and in the end drags her very unhappy butt out to clubs and parties. After getting drunk and ending up in a terrifying situation, Jack finds the girls and saves the day. The girls don't know him but are instantly drawn to him. They find in the days after meeting him they can only think about him.
Month later she finds he is a vampire and "his brother" Peter and Jack, himself are drawn to Alice and don't understand why wither.
She must chose life without them or life with one...which will cause a war. I think the whole thing is barbaric  With Peter making claims on Alice even though Jack saw her first. That would make me angry. Women are in the century of choice not letting someone choose for you!

Through the Ever Night by: Veronica Rossi

Publication Date: January 2013

Overview: It's been months since Aria last saw Perry. Months since Perry was named Blood Lord of the Tides, and Aria was charged with an impossible mission. Now, finally, they are about to be reunited. But their reunion is far from perfect. The Tides don't take kindly to Aria, a former Dweller. And with the worsening Aether storms threatening the tribe's precarious existence, Aria begins to fear that leaving Perry behind might be the only way to save them both.
Threatened by false friends and powerful temptations, Aria and Perry wonder, Can their love survive through the ever night?
My thoughts: She think she can get everyone free and let them live their life again. She also believes her mother is fine and doesn't realize she has been outcasted. But the truth she finds is harder to believe then anything else. Getting captured and threatened was not in the cards. Also being coerced into working on the evil side of things was never the plan, but things change. Then she learns more then she thinks could ever be true and has to find her own way to make things better. Will she be successful?

Insurgent by: Veronica Roth

Publication Date: May 2012

Overview: One choice can transform you—or it can destroy you. But every choice has consequences, and as unrest surges in the factions all around her, Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves—and herself—while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love.

Tris's initiation day should have been marked by celebration and victory with her chosen faction; instead, the day ended with unspeakable horrors. War now looms as conflict between the factions and their ideologies grows. And in times of war, sides must be chosen, secrets will emerge, and choices will become even more irrevocable—and even more powerful. Transformed by her own decisions but also by haunting grief and guilt, radical new discoveries, and shifting relationships, Tris must fully embrace her Divergence, even if she does not know what she may lose by doing so.

My thoughts: First let me say it's been a while since I read this and haven't wrote anything down, so I am going be memory!
I am still satisfied by Tris choice. I think anything else would have mad her weak and she needed her experiences with Dauntless to make her a fighter! I;m so not happy that crap happened to her friends and mom, but am glad to see she is trying to stand tall and fight through the horror and grief, that is her current situation. And with four with her, they get through things better. Through this series they have been split and had to be secretive but now things are differnt and they can be open and although others mean to destroy them they can come out on top.
