The Dark Divine by: Bree Despain

Publication Date: December 2009

Overview: Grace Divine, daughter of the local pastor, always knew something terrible happened the night Daniel Kalbi disappeared--the night she found her brother Jude collapsed on the porch, covered in blood--but she has no idea what a truly monstrous secret that night held.
The memories her family has tried to bury resurface when Daniel returns, three years later, and enrolls in Grace and Jude's high school. Despite promising Jude she'll stay away, Grace cannot deny her attraction to Daniel's shocking artistic abilities, his way of getting her to look at the world from new angles, and the strange, hungry, glint in his eyes.
The closer Grace gets to Daniel, the more she jeopardizes her life, as her actions stir resentment in Jude and drive him to embrace the ancient evil Daniel unleashed that horrific night. Grace must discover the truth behind the boys' dark secret...and the cure that can save the ones she loves. But she may have to lay down the ultimate sacrifice to do it--her soul.

My thoughts: This one was frustrating. One because they paint Pete as evil, and OK, I know he gets handsy or whatever. But really what teenage boy isn't handsy at some point.
Then they place Don, a well meaning mentally challenged guy in the picture. And he he only gets to give us hints of things before he dies.
The Divine family is quite the group! But you have to love the dynamic they have. Daniel and Grace, I love the story of 2 childhood friends who fall in love with one another. Even if they have challenges to face I still want them to be together in the end.
I believe that there is more to Grace being bitten they they think.

Publication Date: April 2010

Overview: Georgina Kincaid has formidable powers. Immortality, seduction, shape-shifting into any human form she desires, walking in heels that would cripple mere mortals—all child's play to a succubus like her.
Helping to plan her ex-boyfriend's wedding is a different story. Georgina isn't sure which is worse—that Seth is marrying another woman, or that Georgina has to run all over Seattle trying on bridesmaid dresses. Still, there are distractions. Georgina's roommate, Roman, is cluttering her apartment with sexual tension. Then there's Simone, the new succubus in town, who's intent on corrupting Seth.
But the real danger lies in the mysterious force that's visiting her thoughts, trying to draw her into a dark, otherworldly realm. Sooner or later, Georgina knows she'll be too weak to resist. And when that happens, she'll discover who she can trust, who she can't—and that Hell is far from the worst place to spend eternity. . .

My thoughts: Dealing with the wedding plans of your ex has to be hard, especially hen your still in love with him. For one thing, I would have told Maddie "NO".
On top of all this is is the target for yet another evil creature. But this time it's Nyx's children who have started haunting G in her dreams. The haunt her until they finally get her alone and take her. They show her things, some of which are true and others that aren't. The ones that are true give her hope and the others she fights to keep her sanity.. In the end her gang has to get help from Seth to get her back to reality. Maddie and Seth's wedding is off and Simone the new evil Succubus is sent packing.

Illuminate by: Aimee Agresti

Publication Date: March 2012

Overview: Haven Terra is a brainy, shy high school outcast. But everything changes when she is awarded a prestigious internship at a posh Chicago hotel under the watchful eyes of a group of gorgeous strangers: the powerful and alluring hotel owner Aurelia Brown; her second-in-command, the dashing Lucian Grove; and their stunning but aloof staff of glamazons called The Outfit.
As Haven begins falling for Lucian, she discovers that these beautiful people are not quite what they seem. With the help of a mysterious book, she uncovers the evil agenda of Aurelia and company: they’re in the business of buying souls. Will they succeed in wooing Haven to join them in their recruitment efforts, or will she be able to thwart this devilish set’s plans to take the souls of her classmates on prom night at the hotel?

My thoughts: Haven and 2 friends are chosen for and internship at a local hotel. It is opening it's doors after being closed for many years, because of tragedy.
What Haven doesn't realize is she was chosen because she's angel. Oh boy!!!! And so are her friends. This is weird for me to thing that she is just suddenly realizing that her friends have the same scars she has.
After one of her friends are poisoned, the other two must work together to figure out what to do next.
This is only the beginning for the trio. I am sure there is more danger to come.

Black Dawn by: Rachel Caine

Publication Date: October 2012

Overview: With its eclectic mix of vampire and human citizens, Morganville, Texas, has always been a risky place to call home. But with the invasion of the vampire’s deadliest enemy, Morganville isn’t just in danger—it’s dying…
Ever since the draug—mysterious creatures that prey on vampires—took over Morganville, the lives of student Claire Danvers and her friends have been thrown into turmoil. Most of the town’s residents have evacuated, but Claire, Shane, Eve and Michael have chosen to stay and fight.
Using the city’s water system to spread, the draug have rapidly multiplied. Things in Morganville look grim, especially since vampire Amelie—the town founder—has been infected by the master draug’s bite. Now, if Claire and her friends don’t figure out how to cure Amelie and defeat the draug, it looks like Morganville will become little more than a ghost town…

My thoughts: Draug. They are the evil that is now taking over the town. They are like water and they lure their victims to pools. They've had Micheal and Shane, but Magnus the leader wants Claire and will take all that she loves to get her!
Claire has no fear though and fights, even almost sacrificing herself to get what she wants a peaceful town, love of Shane and friends Michael and Eve!

A Beautiful Dark by: Jocelyn Davies

Publication Date: August 2012

Overview: On the night of Skye's seventeenth birthday, she meets two enigmatic strangers whose sudden appearance sends her life into a tailspin. Complete opposites, Asher is dark and wild, while Devin is fair and aloof. Skye has no idea what they want or why they seem to follow her every move—only that their presence coincides with a flurry of strange events. Soon she begins to doubt not just the identity of the two boys, but also the truth about her own past.
Then, in the dead of a bitingly cold Colorado winter, Skye discovers an impossible secret that threatens to shatter her world. Torn between Asher, who she can't help falling for, and Devin, who she can't stay away from, the consequences of Skye's choice will reach further than the three of them could ever imagine.

My thoughts:Skye is a normal girl, living a regular life until 2 boys come to town.
Devin and Asher are angels. 1 is of light and 1 is dark.  They tell Skye she is suppose to choose a side.
Skye just wants to be regular, but knows there is a change in her. And because of that there is no chance of a normal life.
Raven is in love with Devin and think Skye is taking him away.
Skye's powers are strong and she can fight this I know.
