2 in 1, Dragon's Oath and Lenobia's Vow

Publication Date: July 2011

Overview: In early 19th century England, long before he’s a professor at the Tulsa House of Night, Bryan Lankford is a troublesome yet talented human teen who thinks he can get away with anything… until his father, a wealthy nobleman, has finally had enough, and banishes him to America. When Bryan is Marked on the docks and given the choice between the London House of Night and the dragon-prowled ship to America, he chooses the Dragon – and a brand new fate.
Becoming a Fledgling may be exciting, but it opens a door to a dangerous world.... In 1830’s St. Louis, the Gateway to the West, Dragon Lankford becomes a Sword Master, and soon realizes there are both frightening challenges and beautiful perks. Like Anastasia, the captivating young Professor of Spells and Rituals at the Tower Grove House of Night, who really should have nothing to do with a fledgling…
But when a dark power threatens, Dragon is caught in its focus. Though his uncanny fighting skills make him a powerful fledgling, is he strong enough to ward off evil, while protecting Anastasia as well? Will his choices save her—or destroy them all?

My thoughts: I have to say that I don't care for the ma he was. But I do love the man he became because of Anastasia. Those 2 were made for each other. And the best thing the happened at the HON was them teaching.

Overview: Evreux, France, 1788: Before she is Zoey’s favorite professor and the House of Night’s powerful horse mistress… Lenobia is just a normal 16-year-old girl – with enough problems to last a lifetime. As the illegitimate daughter of a powerful baron, she has never quite belonged, and instead has to watch her spoiled half-sister, Cecile, get anything she wants. As if that’s not enough, her remarkable beauty draws unwanted attention wherever she goes. For once, she would like to just fit in.
But when fate intervenes, Lenobia suddenly finds herself surrounded by other girls, on a ship bound for New Orleans, where they will be married off to the city’s richest Frenchmen. And they’re not alone…. An evil bishop who is skilled in Dark magic makes the same journey. His appetite for lovely young women makes him dangerous – most of all to Lenobia, who caught his eye back in France. So she remains hidden, making secret visits to the ship’s stables, where a handsome young man and his beautiful Percheron horses soon capture her attention.
Will they make it to land before the bishop discovers her true identity and a powerful evil breaks loose? And will Lenobia follow her heart, even if it puts lives at risk? Find out more about one of your favorite professors in the next heart-thumping House of Night Novella.

My thoughts: Lenobia's story id so sad. She never really had a family life and then to be thrown onto a ship and taken to a land far from the only parent she had is awful . But facing down evil in the middle of the ocean is worse.
But when you thin kit can't get worse it does.....she falls in love and  I know that isn't horrible. But him being killed is. And now she is marked.

Overview: A breathtaking paranormal romance about boarding school students with special powers is now in paperback.Violet McKenna thought she was crazy when she had a vivid vision of her dad’s murder—but when her premonition came true, her life fell apart. Then she found a new school. At Winterhaven, Violet fits right in. All the students have special “gifts” like her own, and she quickly finds a close group of friends. But Violet’s attraction to an alluring boy becomes problematic when intense visions of his death start to haunt her. In her premonitions, the secret he is unwilling to share begins to reveal itself—and the unbelievable becomes reality. To Violet’s horror, she learns that their destinies are intertwined in a critical—and deadly—way.

My thoughts: This book surprised me. I took a chance and decided to not ready anything about this book, I just picked it up at the library and said if it sucks then I didn't waste money only my time.
But it was good.
Violet is stuck with her step - mom after both of her parents die. She then gets sent to a boarding school and I know you think ugh...sucks to be her. But really this is the best thing for her and I think she would agree.
Luckily for her she hand picked the school she was to attend. This school drew her in. And the reason being it's a school for kids with special talents.
There is everything from werewolves, seers, and vampires. I would have picked this school too. Man do I wish I were a freak!

After Obsession by: Carrie Jones and Steven E. Wedel

Publication Date: September 2011

Overview: Aimee and Alan have secrets. Both teens have unusual pasts and abilities they prefer to keep hidden. But when they meet each other, in a cold Maine town, they can't stop their secrets from spilling out. Strange things have been happening lately, and they both feel that something-or someone- is haunting them. They're wrong. Despite their unusual history and powers, it's neither Aimee nor Alan who is truly haunted. It's Alan's cousin Courtney who, in a desperate plea to find her missing father, has invited a demon into her life-and into her body. Only together can Aimee and Alan exorcise the ghost. And they have to move quickly, before it devours not just Courtney but everything around her.

My thoughts: Alan and Aimee are in love instantly. But together they must find answers to the evil River Man. That is killing people or turning them evil. Including Aimee's friend and Alan's cousin Courtney.
They faced weird and sometimes extreme obstacles while facing this demon.
But they figure it all out and see that things aren't always what they seem. Aimee is a healer but without Alan, they could never save Courtney. Too bad they couldn't save the others.

Now she must return to the protection of her pride knowing she might never see Will again—and worse, that because his mind has been shaded, Will's memories of that fateful night and why she had to flee are gone.
Back home, Jacinda is greeted with hostility and must work to prove her loyalty for both her sake and her family's. My thoughts: Jacinda and her family are now on the run. Cassian has gotten them to go back home, where they belong. And truthfully I think its the best place for them. The hunters are on their tail. /but little sister, Tamra finally changes to draki and she helps save the day.
The town is excited for T but shun the rest of the family. And while she is the hero her family suffers. Her mom drinks all the time and cries and her sister get forced into things that she shouldn't.
Lucky for her the only thing that can save Jacinda is to marry Cassian, which T hates, because she is crazy for cassian. but it's marriage or death for Jacinda. she picks marriage.
Cassian realizes things will never be simple and runs away with the girls who save Marim who got caught by the hunters.

Abandon by: Meg Cabot

Publication Date: April 2011

Overview:
Though she tries returning to the life she knew before the accident, Pierce can't help but feel at once a part of this world, and apart from it. Yet she's never alone . . . because someone is always watching her. Escape from the realm of the dead is impossible when someone there wants you back.
But now she's moved to a new town. Maybe at her new school, she can start fresh. Maybe she can stop feeling so afraid.
Only she can't. Because even here, he finds her. That's how desperately he wants her back. She knows he's no guardian angel, and his dark world isn't exactly heaven, yet she can't stay away . . . especially since he always appears when she least expects it, but exactly when she needs him most.
But if she lets herself fall any further, she may just find herself back in the one place she most fears: the Underworld.

My thoughts: Pierce has dealt with tons of drama. Dying and coming back has to be the worst, but she also lost a friend. And not one of the " oh we don't speak anymore". Her dear friend died from a drug overdose.
This girl has been accused of maiming her teacher and much more, but the truth of the matter is that it's John.
John is in charge of the Underworld and is in love with her. She's not sure what to think of the situation, but furies are after her and John is the one to protect her.
