Graceling by: Kristin Cashore

Publication: September 2009

Overview:
Katsa has been able to kill a man with her bare hands since she was eight—she’s a Graceling, one of the rare people in her land born with an extreme skill. As niece of the king, she should be able to live a life of privilege, but Graced as she is with killing, she is forced to work as the king’s thug.
When she first meets Prince Po, Graced with combat skills, Katsa has no hint of how her life is about to change. She never expects to become Po’s friend. She never expects to learn a new truth about her own Grace—or about a terrible secret that lies hidden far away . . . a secret that could destroy all seven kingdoms with words alone.
With elegant, evocative prose and a cast of unforgettable characters, debut author Kristin Cashore creates a mesmerizing world, a death-defying adventure, and a heart-racing romance that will consume you, hold you captive, and leave you wanting more.

My thoughts: I've had this book on my TBR pile for a while. My cousin actually read this book last year in school and told me she really liked it and I should give it a try. Now after reading it I agree with her, if it's on your list just read it......It's wonderful.
I won't lie there are some down times, but for the most part it flows great.
Katsa thought her grace was killing. And grace is like a specialty. But through the help of Po and others she realized it was something much more. And with it she has survived and made it through true trails. She even saved several lives as well!
She and Po push through differences and find find love and fix problems. Po has an accident in the end and comes to find himself in a situation that most people would hate. And truthfully he doesn't like it anymore than anyone else would. But he strives to live and makes the most of the problem and comes to find not all things are curses.
If you love a strong female lead and action adventure you should check this book out.....

My rating: 4 stars
