Synopsis
Junior high really stinks for thirteen-year-old Vladimir Tod. Bullies harass him, the principal is dogging him, and the girl he likes prefers his best friend. Oh, and Vlad has a secret: His mother was human, but his father was a vampire. With no idea of the extent of his powers and no one to teach him, Vlad struggles daily with his blood cravings and his enlarged fangs. When a strange substitute teacher begins to question him a little too closely, Vlad worries that his cover is about to be blown. But then he realizes he has a much bigger problem: He’s being hunted by a vampire killer who is closing in . . . fast!
My Thoughts: Vlad is an interesting vampire. He was born as a vampire, but one of his parents are a human the other is a vampire.
His parents met when his dad was looking to feed. Vlad's mother was walking home and she just happened to be the target. But when he saw her, he feel in love instantly. 2 years later they were expecting Vlad, so they got married.
Later his parents were killed and he was left to be raised but his mothers human friend Nellie. She's a nurse who keeps his secret and brings him blood from the hospital in which she works.
After his teacher goes missing a sub comes i. Mr Otis is actually a vampire and Vlad's uncle. After killing a evil vampire to escape certain death, Otis promises to always be there for Vlad. Who is not only desperate to learn more but needs to learn more about vampires.
