Shiver by: Maggie Stiefvater

Publication Date: June 2010

Synopsis: For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf--her wolf--is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human . . . until the cold makes him shift back again.

Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human--or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.

My thoughts: I absolutely love this book. It has love with a little bit of sorrow, but love conquers all. Truly amazing.
GRace was tortured by wolves, only to be saved by one. She should have changed into a wolf, but a deadly fever saved her. I don't whether I'd have been grateful or not.
Sam is the wolf who saved her and has loved her ever since. When he is forced to change back to wolf it almost kills him, because he knows he will never be human again.
Finally he gets to love her and be by her side. he tries to help other wolves, only to be forced to save themselves against danger.
They lose friends and loved ones.
They try to find a cure! Which is to infect the wolves with infected blood so they get a high fever and it will cause them either to die or to be cured.
Jack dies.
Olivia choses not to take the blood and changes into a wolf.
And Sam turns human....Amen! (at least for Sam)

My rating: 5 stars
