Masquerade by: Melissa de la Cruz

Publication Date: July 2008

Overview: Schuyler Van Alen wants an explanation for the mysterious deaths of young vampires. With her best friend, Oliver, Schuyler travels to Italy in the hope of finding the one man who can help—her grandfather. Meanwhile, back in New York, preparations are feverishly underway for the Four Hundred Ball, an exclusive gala hosted by the city's wealthy, powerful, and unhuman—a true Blue Blood affair.
But it's at the after-party, a masquerade ball thrown by the cunning Mimi Force, that the real danger lurks. Hidden behind the masks is a revelation that will forever change the course of a young vampire's destiny.
Rich with glamour, attitude, and vampire lore, this second installment in the Blue Bloods saga will leave readers thirsting for more.

My thoughts: Following up on Blue Bloods, poor Schuyler goes overseas to find Lawrence Van Alen, her long lost grandfather! Apparently he knows all about the Silver Bloods and how to get ride of them. At first her decides not to help Sky, so she comes home. But one day she awakes to find him changing things in the home. And declaring he was mistaken and now wants to help.
Sky is in love with Jack Force and Jack is drawn to Sky. But Oliver is in love with Sky and doesn't want her with Jack.
After taking Oliver as her human familiar Sky finds that he is in love with her and she doesn't know what to do. Mimi is used by Kingsley a Silver Blood and Sky, by the request of Jack drinks her blood to see if she is innocent.
And Bliss may be Sky's sister? But how?
My rating: 4 stars
